Avocados are a fantastic food.

They are great tasting in addition to being a superb method to lower your high blood pressure and cholesterol. Finding natural ways to lower your high blood pressure is essential.

Prescription blood pressure medication is expensive and rife with unwanted side effects. The side effects can actually be so awful they seem worse than the problem. Fortunately, there are many natural cures out there that will help you relieve hypertension naturally.

A good one and one of the most common are avocados.

How Do Avocados Lower High Blood Pressure?

Avocados contain monounsaturated fat that is called oleic acid. It has been well documented that oleic acid assists in lowering cholesterol.

In a study where participants had a daily diet that included Avocados, the participants showed a lowering of LDL (bad cholesterol) by 10% and an 11% rise in HDL (good cholesterol), and that was for only one week!

They are also absolutely chock full of potassium. Potassium is known to be one of the critical ingredients in lowering blood pressure and keeping a healthy circulatory system. If that were not enough, avocados have a large number of Folates, a nutrient that increases heart health and assists in decreasing blood pressure naturally.

Avocados are great for salads and can be used for many dishes for natural Hypertension relief.

Avocado and Salad

They have been shown to increase the absorption of Carotenoids from salads. So if you throw in some avocados and you can actually make the greens in your salads better! So, to have a truly heart-healthy diet, mix in a lot of avocados into your food.

Just one word of advice, avocados are very healthy to be sure, but they do also have a lot of calories. If you have a heart condition, it is good to have some regardless, but since they do have a lot of calories, you may want to slightly decrease your intake if you are on a “diet.”
